User Settings is where you manage your account, your meetings, and the integrations that feed Groupthink. To open it, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose **User settings**, or go straight there at [app.groupthink.com/settings](https://app.groupthink.com/settings).

Settings is organized into five tabs. The page opens on the Account tab by default, and every section has its own deep link (see [Deep Links](#deep-links) below).

## Tabs

### Account

Your profile, your plan, and the data Groupthink holds for you.

- **Profile** — your name, photo, and account details. Groupthink uses these as the notetaker's defaults when you leave the bot identity blank.
- **Billing** — view your current plan, see what is included, and manage your subscription and payment details.
- **Your data**: export your data or close your account. The export card has two buttons: **Export my data** (everything) and **Export my captures** (only the prompts and voice notes you captured yourself). Both are free. See [Export Your Data](/docs/export_your_data).

### Meetings

How Groupthink shows up in and around your meetings.

- **Calendars, availability and booking links** have moved to **Today > Calendar & booking**. The Meetings tab links there with **Open Calendar & booking**. That page holds your booking links, the hours you can be booked, and your connected calendars, including **How should Groupthink attend your meetings?** and **Keep your calendars in sync**. See [Google Calendar](/docs/google_calendar), [Share your availability](/docs/availability) and [Keep your calendars in sync](/docs/calendar_sync).
- **Bot identity** — how the Groupthink notetaker appears when it joins a meeting on your behalf. Set a display name and avatar, or leave the fields blank to use your profile defaults.

### Capture

How intel gets into Groupthink and how it is organized. The tab opens with a **Jump to** row linking to each section on it.

- **Voice Dictation** — the hold-to-talk key, the microphone, and whether dictations are typed at your cursor. These belong to the computer you set them on, not to your account. In the Mac app this section is first on the tab, and the jump links read **Voice Dictation · Ingestion · Projects**; on the web it comes after Ingestion, with a note that the settings live in the desktop app. See [Voice Dictation](/docs/voice-dictation).
- **Ingestion** — bring in meetings from tools you already use. Paste notes from a Granola export, an Otter transcript, a Zoom AI recap, or any raw text, or forward recaps to your personal forwarding email address. See [Forward notes by email](/docs/forward_notes_by_email).
- **Projects** — group meetings and intel into projects to keep your work, personal, and family context separate. See [Projects](/docs/projects).

### Notifications

Control which Groupthink updates reach you and where they arrive — email and desktop, per notification type.

### Connections

Everything wired to Groupthink — the tools it reads from and writes back to.

- **GitHub activity as relationship signal** — see [GitHub relationship signal](/docs/github_relationship_signal).
- **Action item sync** — route action items directly to GitHub Issues or Linear, configured per connection.
- **GitHub repo sync** (Pro) — commits your meetings and captures to a private GitHub repo as Markdown. See [GitHub repo sync](/docs/github_repo_sync).
- **Connected accounts** — every account and service connected to this workspace, including the Google and Outlook accounts behind your calendars.
- **Developer** — a collapsed section holding **AI Provider Key** (use your own Anthropic API key for meeting summaries) and **MCP Access** (personal access tokens for external clients such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, or Cursor). See [MCP server](/docs/mcp_server).

## Deep Links

You can open any tab directly by adding its hash to the settings URL:

- `https://app.groupthink.com/settings#meetings`
- `https://app.groupthink.com/settings#capture`
- `https://app.groupthink.com/settings#notifications`
- `https://app.groupthink.com/settings#connections`

Links to the sections listed above also work, including every link that predates the five-tab layout (`#profile`, `#billing`, `#calendar`, `#availability`, `#bot`, `#ingestion`, `#projects`, `#api-keys`, `#api-tokens`) and the newer `#voice-dictation`. An old link opens the tab that now contains that section, so nothing you have shared or bookmarked breaks. `#calendar` and `#availability` open **Today > Calendar & booking** at the matching section. A section link also scrolls to the section rather than leaving you at the top of the tab, and a link to something inside the collapsed **Developer** group (such as `#api-tokens` for **MCP Access**) opens the group first.
