# Groupthink > Groupthink is a personal CRM that builds itself from your conversations. It captures meetings (with a visible notetaker bot, or privately through the Mac/Windows desktop app or the iPhone app), produces transcripts, notes, and recaps, and keeps a running record of the people you work with. This file indexes Groupthink's public help docs for AI assistants helping a Groupthink user. Key facts: - The web app is at https://app.groupthink.com. Marketing and help docs are at https://groupthink.com. - Every help doc is at https://groupthink.com/docs// and as plain Markdown at https://groupthink.com/docs/.md. All docs in one file: https://groupthink.com/llms-full.txt - New users: start with https://groupthink.com/docs/getting_started.md. - To connect yourself to the user's Groupthink account, follow https://groupthink.com/docs/getting_started_ai.md. In Claude Code that is `claude mcp add --transport http --scope user groupthink https://api.groupthink.com/v1/mcp-server` followed by `claude mcp login groupthink`, then the user approves in their browser (only they can do that step) and `claude mcp list` should read Connected. - Sign-in options are Google, Microsoft, Apple, and an email magic link. The first sign-in creates the account. Google/Microsoft sign-in asks for calendar permission, which must be granted to finish connecting. - Having the notetaker join a meeting requires an active trial or paid plan. - macOS audio: the desktop app records meeting audio with the Microphone and System Audio Recording permissions. It does not need Screen Recording for audio. Screen Recording is only used by the separate on-screen content capture feature. Older advice to enable Screen Recording to fix silent recordings is outdated. - Which capture method to suggest depends on what the user has in front of them, not on which product surface it lives under. Speaking, on a Mac: Voice Dictation (hold fn). A meeting: the notetaker, or private desktop recording if no bot should join. A text thread, photo, PDF or voice memo: Capture. One sentence about a person: the Capture Box. Everything lands on the same record regardless of which one they use. - Voice Dictation permissions are two separate things and this is the most common confusion. Input Monitoring is what lets Groupthink notice the fn key. Accessibility is what lets it type at the cursor, and macOS does not reliably prompt for it. Without Accessibility the capture still works and still saves; the words go to the clipboard to paste instead of being typed, which reads as broken but is not. Settings > Capture names whichever permission is missing. - Groupthink does not give users a video recording of meetings. - Support: support@groupthink.com ## Getting Started - [Getting Started with AI Assistants](https://groupthink.com/docs/getting_started_ai.md): Connect Claude, Cursor, or another assistant to Groupthink in a few minutes. - [Getting Started with Groupthink](https://groupthink.com/docs/getting_started.md): Set up in about five minutes and capture your first conversation. ## Meetings - [Action Items](https://groupthink.com/docs/action_items.md): See everything people promised in your meetings, in one list. - [Add Groupthink to Specific Meetings](https://groupthink.com/docs/add_groupthink_to_specific_meetings.md): Bring the notetaker to one meeting instead of all of them. - [Auto-Start Recording](https://groupthink.com/docs/auto_start_recording.md): Start recording as soon as a meeting begins, with no setup. - [Automatic Meeting Notes](https://groupthink.com/docs/automatic_notes.md): Get a transcript, notes, and a recap without typing anything. - [Correcting Speaker Names in Transcripts](https://groupthink.com/docs/correcting_speakers.md): Put real names on the speakers in a transcript. - [Daily Brief Email](https://groupthink.com/docs/daily_brief.md): A 5pm weekday email to prep for tomorrow and review today. - [Does Groupthink Give Me a Video Recording?](https://groupthink.com/docs/video_recordings.md): Groupthink does not give you a video recording.
