Slack Integration Now Available

Welcome new (and returning) users! For those who are seeing this for the first time, we send a daily email with updates on our progress and this is the 7th update. You can reply directly to this message and discuss ways VI can improve, and we hope you do!

If you’re not using Threading, you’re missing out on my favorite feature of VI

Threading your replies helps VI continue the conversation. After getting your first response to a message, click “reply” to continue the thread – VI will respond based on the full context of your previous messages in that thread. This makes it easy to have VI continue doing work, or provide you with more results, after you’ve made a request.

We want feedback from you

We’ve heard from several of you that threading is rad – especially since VI can “continue” a conversation. We also know that only 29% of active VI users have replied to VI in a thread.

We have a strong hunch that VI’s ability to “remember” is super important. Please reply to this email with your opinion on how to make threading more obvious, awesome, and useful.

VI is like ChatGPT, but VI can read the internet, email, your browser history… and Slack!

Personally, I find searching in Slack to be less than ideal. Connecting to Slack will allow VI to search messages just like your email or browsing history, plus provide all of VI’s summarization and content creation talent on top of your messages.

What’s New

• Slack! Integrate VI with your Slack messages to search, summarize, and more
• As we shipped Slack, we’ve made our ETL process much more robust and efficient – this means shipping new integrations should be even faster!
• If you had problems syncing Gmail, this should be improved over the weekend
• Numerous bug fixes – if you ran into white screens on your desktop or mobile, especially in chat or when trying to configure an integration, these should begin resolving

What’s Next

• Searching for people – VI will begin building a contact list based on individuals you speak with in Slack or via Email – so it’s easier than ever to find someone’s contact information
