When You Give VI Feedback

Jonathan Kressaty

Welcome new (and returning) users! We are officially past 200 users after 12 days

For those who are seeing this for the first time, we send a daily email with updates on our progress and this is the 9th update. You can reply directly to this message to discuss ways VI can improve with the founders, and we hope you do!

Did you know you can provide feedback on any response from VI?

The feedback panel is located at the bottom of each response from VI as a dropdown menu you can toggle into.

Some improvements we’re thinking about:

  • Re-ordering / re-wording these questions
  • Adding a free text box
  • What else? Please let us know if you have suggestions

What We Do With Your Feedback

Once you submit, we have internal tools that allow us to:

  • Shows us the query you sent and VI’s response
  • Which skills VI used (research, fact, news, search, LLM)
  • Evidence like websites read and data collected
  • Impact of the previous conversation
  • What we submitted to the LLM based on the prompt, evidence and other context from your conversation and the data sources you’ve connected

We manually review every single feedback to see how we can improve VI’s answers.

We also are re-running prompts that had poor responses before, and some of the improvements we’ve made in the past 2 weeks have already gotten better. We’ll be reaching out to you individually to let you know about things like this, but wanted to share that this is really promising.

VI is like ChatGPT, but VI reads the internet, email, your browser history… and Slack!

What’s New

  • Fixed an issue with Gmail connections and Slack connections that was a white screen for some users (request Gmail connect access)
  • Improved scrolling in the feedback box
  • Fixed a bug to improve app search, giving the LLM more semantic scope for searching email and Slack (basically, being less strict and letting it be more creative)

What’s Next

  • More prominent feedback links all over the place
  • We need a name, we’ve got the list narrowed down to ~35 right now
