Does Groupthink Give Me a Video Recording?

No. Groupthink does not give you a video recording of your meetings. There is no video in Groupthink to watch, download, or share.

That is how the product works, not a setting you have missed. Groupthink captures what a meeting produced, the decisions, commitments and context, rather than a film you would have to rewatch to get at them. If you want a video file of a call, record it with your conferencing provider. Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams each have their own recording feature, and Groupthink runs alongside that without conflict.

What you get instead

Transcript	The full text of what was said, with speakers attributed.
Summary and notes	The recap: decisions, action items, and the things worth remembering.
On-screen content (optional)	If you turn on on-screen content capture, Groupthink reads the text from a window you choose, a slide, a dashboard, a spreadsheet, and files it under Shown on screen in the recap.

I am looking for the video of a past meeting. Where is it?

There is not one to find. Open the meeting recap instead: the transcript and notes are the record of what happened. For future meetings, turn on recording in your conferencing provider before the call if you need a video file.

The notetaker joined my call. Can I get its recording?

No. The notetaker joins to capture the meeting for your transcript and notes, and it does not hand back a video for you to watch or download. On its video tile it shows a static identity slide with its name rather than a feed of the conversation or your notes.

Is on-screen content capture the same as screen recording?

No, and the name invites the confusion. On-screen content capture reads the text off a single window you pick. It runs on your Mac, only that text is sent to Groupthink, and images of your screen are never uploaded or stored. It produces no video.

macOS asks for Screen Recording permission before it will let any app read a window, so you will see that system prompt and the purple menu-bar indicator while it runs. That is the operating system's wording for reading the screen, not a sign that Groupthink is recording video.

Can I get a video if I turn on screen capture?

No. See above: it captures text, not pictures and not video.
