Follow a Live Call With Your AI Assistant
Send Groupthink into a call from Claude and ask about it while it is still going.
With Groupthink connected to your AI assistant, you can send the Groupthink bot into a Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams call and then ask your assistant about the call while it is still happening. Each time you ask, your assistant reads what has been said since the last time it looked, so you can check in once, or keep a running summary going for the whole call.
Because the same connection also reads your relationships, you can ask questions that need both the call and your history with the people on it.
- "What has Theo said about the timeline so far?"
- "Did anyone commit to sending the contract?"
- "Summarize the last ten minutes. I stepped away."
- "Nora just said the budget is frozen until Q2. Has she said that before?"
Before You Start
- Groupthink connected to your assistant with read and write access. Sending the bot is a write, so a read-only connection cannot do it. Setup for Claude Code, claude.ai, Claude Desktop, Cursor and other clients is in the MCP Server guide.
- A Groupthink trial or subscription. Sending a bot to a new meeting needs one.
- The meeting link. Any Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams URL.
Follow a Call
-
Send the bot. Paste the link into your assistant and ask it to send Groupthink:
Send the Groupthink bot to this meeting: https://zoom.us/j/...
Your assistant replies once the bot is on its way.
-
Let it in. The bot joins as a named participant, so everyone on the call can see it. If the meeting has a waiting room, admit it like any other guest.
-
Ask about the call. Ask whatever you want, whenever you want. Your assistant pulls the newest lines of the transcript, with speaker names, and answers from them. If nothing new has been said since the last check, it tells you so.
-
Keep it running, if you like. Some assistants can repeat a request on a timer. In Claude Code, for example:
/loop 2m summarize anything new in the meetinggives you a short digest every two minutes until you stop it.
-
End it. When you are done, ask your assistant to tell the bot to leave the meeting.
The call is saved in Groupthink as a meeting, so you can come back to it later. Ask your assistant for the recap, or find it in the app.
Good to Know
- Each check picks up where the last one stopped. Your assistant keeps one place-marker per meeting for your account. If you follow the same call from two assistants signed in as you, they share that marker, so a line one of them has read will not come back for the other.
- Live reading works for bots you send from your assistant. For a meeting Groupthink joined from your calendar, or one you recorded with the desktop app, your assistant can read the full transcript afterward but cannot follow it line by line during the call.
- The bot does not hear itself. If you have the bot speak in the meeting, those words are left out of what your assistant reads back, so it never answers its own voice.
- Lines arrive shortly after they are spoken. A sentence shows up once the speaker finishes it, not word by word.
Troubleshooting
Your assistant cannot find a way to send the bot. The connection was approved as read-only. Remove Groupthink from your assistant, add it again, and choose read and write on the approval screen.
Your assistant says a trial or subscription is needed. Start a trial or subscribe in Groupthink, then ask again.
The bot never shows up in the call. Check the waiting room. If it is not there, ask your assistant for the bot's status. It reports whether the bot is still joining, in the call, or could not get in.
People are talking but nothing new comes back. Ask your assistant for the bot's status. If the bot is still in the call and transcription has stopped, tell it to leave and send it again.
