Managing Your Billing & Subscription

Understanding Groupthink's Pricing

Groupthink offers a simple and transparent pricing model:

  • Free Trial: Try Groupthink free for 30 days. Includes AI notes, recordings, and unlimited meeting length. No credit card required.
  • Pro Plan: $15/month for unlimited meetings after your free trial expires

What Happens When Your Trial Expires?

Once your 30-day free trial ends, you'll need to upgrade to the Pro plan to continue accessing your meeting notes, recordings, and other features. Without an active subscription, you won't be able to view your past meeting recaps or create new meetings.

What happens to past meetings when my trial expires?

When your trial expires, past meeting recaps are placed behind a paywall. You'll see an upgrade prompt when trying to access them. Upgrading to Pro immediately restores access to all your past meeting content — nothing is deleted.

How to Upgrade to Pro

To upgrade your account to the Pro plan:

  1. Click on your profile picture in the bottom left corner of the Groupthink app
  2. Select "User settings" from the menu (or navigate directly to app.groupthink.com/settings#billing)
  3. Navigate to the "Billing" tab
  4. Click the upgrade button to go directly to the billing page
  5. Enter your payment information and complete the subscription

You can also upgrade by clicking on any "Trial Expired - Upgrade Now!" notifications in the app.

Managing Your Subscription

Accessing Your Billing Portal

To manage your existing subscription, update payment methods, or view invoices:

  1. Go to User Settings > Billing tab
  2. Click the "Manage Billing" button
  3. You'll be redirected to the secure billing portal powered by Stripe

From the billing portal, you can:

  • View and download invoices
  • Update your payment method
  • Add or change your credit card
  • Update billing information
  • View your payment history

Updating Your Credit Card

To update your payment method:

  1. Go to User Settings > Billing and click "Manage Billing"
  2. Click "Add payment method" or update your existing payment method
  3. Enter your new credit card information
  4. Save your changes

Canceling Your Subscription

To cancel your Pro subscription:

  1. Go to User Settings > Billing and click "Manage Billing"
  2. Navigate to your active subscription
  3. Click "Cancel subscription"
  4. Follow the prompts to confirm cancellation

Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period. After cancellation, you'll lose access to your meeting content once the billing period ends.

Downgrading Your Plan

Groupthink offers two tiers: Free Trial (30 days) and Pro (unlimited). If you cancel your Pro subscription, your account will revert to an expired trial state. The 30-day free trial is a one-time offer and does not reset after cancellation.
